About Us

Since its inception in 1985, the Mt. Juliet High School Band of Gold has been rich in tradition and excellence. The program consists of concert band, marching band, jazz band, winter winds, winter guard, and winter drumline. The Mt. Juliet High School Concert Band continuously earns superior and excellent ratings in many State festivals. The Band of Gold continues to grow and produce award winning and nationally recognized musical and visual performances. Each year the Mt. Juliet Band of Gold has nearly 100 of the most talented students from Mt. Juliet High School take the field in performances all across the state.

In addition to the Mt. Juliet High School Marching Band, the band program combines with an award-winning and nationally recognized Winter Winds, Winter Guard, and Winter Drumline competing in the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit and Winter Guard International. All three groups finished the 2022 season as Tennessee State Champions. Mt. Juliet was one of only 3 schools at the 2022 WGI World Championships to have a group make finals in all 3 divisions: Color Guard, Percussion, and Winds. This is truly a phenomenal accomplishment and a first for Mt. Juliet High School.

The band programs operate in a three point triangle: Students, Directors & Staff, and Parents. The students are held up by a supportive directors/staff and parent organization known as the Boosters Club. We recognize the strength of our director/staff side, as well as the parent side and together we work toward the common goal of providing life-changing experiences for our students. Each side is needed to create our triangle of excellence.

The Mt. Juliet High School Band Program is deeply involved in our community. We understand our presence in working with our community leaders to help provide a city that is truly a City between the Lakes that has everything to live, shop, and play.
